Besides ICAED member organisations, human rights organisations like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch also would pay special attention to this day.
August 30 2008: Global Action Against Enforced Disappearances

On August 30 2008 different events are organised by the families of victims all over the world to commemorate the disappeared. On this day, the iCAED calls on governments to sign and ratify the Convention. We will also send an appeal letter signed by renowned personalities to all heads of states, together with a photo publication bearing witness to the emotional effects of disappearances. 30 de Agosto de 2008: Acción Global Contra Las Desapariciones Forzadas
El 30 de agosto de 2008 las familias de las víctimas organizarán eventos en todo el mundo para conmemorar la memoria de los desparecidos. Ese día, el ICAED enviará una carta de llamada firmada por personalidades relevantes de todos los jefes del estado, junto con una publicación fotográfica que ofrece testimonio gráfico de los efectos emocionales de las desapariciones. Le 30 août 2008, des évènements seront organisés par les familles de victimes dans le monde entier pour commémorer les disparus. Ce jour-là, la ICAED appellera les gouvernements à signer et à ratifier la Convention. La ICAED enverra une lettre d'appel signée par des personnalités célèbres à tous les Chefs de Gouvernements, ensemble avec une publication de photos faisant preuve des effets émotionnels des Disparitions. 30 АВГУСТА 2008 ГОДА. ГЛОБАЛЬНАЯ АКЦИЯ ПРОТИВ ПРИНУДИТЕЛЬНЫХ ИСЧЕЗНОВЕНИЙ
30 августа 2008 года членами семей жертв во всем мире будут организованы мероприятия, чтобы почтить память исчезнувших. В этот день ICAED призывает правительства подписать и ратифицировать Конвенцию. ICAED пошлет главам всех правительств письмо с обращением, подписанным известными людьми, вместе с иллюстрированным фотографиями изданием, содержащим свидетельства эмоционального воздействия исчезновений.
